My love for the farm started when I was around 4 years old. My grandfather used to be a rice farmer and he also grew different varieties of vegetables in our backyard. I remember going with my grandmother to the rice field and we ate our lunch together under the trees with the stunning view of the rice paddy and the neighbor’s buffalo swimming in its own made pool.
My career revolved around offices and online jobs in the city. Then, I went to Thailand to work and lived there for over 5 years as a luxury villa specialist. I fell in love with that country – its nice people and delicious dishes. Then, I met a family of Thai farmers and I started to spend time with them. Their passion for farming and sharing their knowledge was so strong that even the language barrier was not an issue. During the weekends, they taught me all they know about Thai basil farming.
I slowly realized that in fact, my passion was pushing me to stop working online and start to follow my dream to become a farmer..
So, I went back to the Philippines and bought a 1-hectare of land in Pampanga, at the foot of Mt. Arayat, and start farming the Thai herbs that I used to eat every day in Thailand. I want to introduce these Thai herbs to Filipinos and supply the establishments that are needing these herbs. Aside from that, I am looking forward to employing some of the local farmers in my area and hope that very soon, I will be able to share my success with them.
